A Minute with Thom Hill Co Founder of Iron and Resin

Building a business is not easy. Infact, it's one of the hardest things you can do. When you meet people making it happen on their own terms and based on what they love, it's pretty refreshing. Take a minute and meet Thom Hill co founder of Iron & Resin , lover of all things two wheeled, and supporter of the SSO. Thom and the staff at their San Francisco location have organized a group ride to the Sierra Stake Out. Scroll down for all info on how to jump on board and ride with a solid crew of motorcylsits.

Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into motorcycling:

My grandfather had a Honda Trail 70 that he put me on when I was about 7. I popped it into gear, let go of the clutch and promptly ran headlong into a tree. After a few more attempts, I got the hang of it and ripped that little bike through the woods for the next few years. Once I had a taste for freedom and speed, I never looked back.

Tell us about what you do and how you got into it and how long you’ve been doing it:

Wanderer. Wonderer. Cotton slinger. Founder, Iron & Resin. I'd been doing branding and manufacturing in the surf and skate industry for years and was  disenfranchised with what was happening. Maybe I was just getting older, but I felt like there was nothing that reflected all the things that I was into. InR started as a personal passion project that kind of spiraled out of control. I wanted to create more than just a clothing brand. We're all about building community, making friends and sharing experience.

Best moto route or camping trip you’ve ever been on:

Currently making plans to ride the continental divide from Mexico into Canada. 2000 miles, 100% off road and through some of the best country North America has to offer.  Pretty sure this will be my best trip yet.

Have you ridden the Sierra Nevada area?

Hell yeah. You can't go up North without riding in that area. Too many hidden gems that I gotta keep to myself ;)

Who are you rolling with to the Sierra Stake Out and which route are you planning to take there?

We’re bringing the party from SF, we got the whole InR SF family heading up and will have a ride set up that Friday morning leaving from the SF Store to SSO. Should be a great  turnout, our friend Mikey will be leading the ride and were confident the route he chooses will be one heck of a ride!
